We love mountains

My thoughts and experiences cycling, snowboarding and travelling around the world

Mountain Biking Scotland

Scotland is rated as one of the best places to ride bikes in the world, if you can brave the weather then I can’t disagree. Its inspiring scenery and dramatic colours combined with ancient paths across remote highlands make it truly unique. A little local music to listen to; Why Does It Always Rain On Me by Travis on Grooveshark

There are so many great rides to choose from across Scotland, from the 7Stanes in the south, the rolling hills in Perthshire to the Highlands and beyond. The below shows a selection of my  photos, my favorite is on the Isle of Skye. The picture below is from the most remote ride we did, a loop around the Duirinish Peninsula looking towards the Macloed’s Maidens in the distance. It is so remote that most of the way there is limited evidence of anyone having been here before just riding on short grass.

May favourite place in Scotland for hiking or biking; Torridon inspiration for Tolkien’s Lord of the Rings. Local myth has it anyway!DSC01191
